What to Expect During a Video Consultation
Our virtual clinic platform includes a range of features designed to make your appointment smooth and interactive:
Screen sharing – allowing you and Dr Tomlinson to review photographs and scans together in real time.
Secure document delivery – you can receive and download information during your appointment, with confirmation that documents have been successfully received.
Virtual waiting room support – Dr Tomlinson’s administrative assistant or practice nurse will greet you when you check in, assist with any practical matters, and help arrange follow-up appointments or discuss surgical fee estimates and booking information after your consultation.
Is Telehealth Right for You?
Telehealth consultations are suitable for many types of appointments, including:
Initial discussions and second opinions where a physical examination is not required
Review of imaging or photographs
Post-operative follow-up
General advice where a physical examination is not required
Dr Tomlinson reviews all requests for videoconsultations and we will advise if a videoconsultation is of lesser quality or not appropriate for your appointment, based on the information you and your referring doctor have provided. If an in-person assessment is necessary, we will advise you and arrange a face-to-face appointment.
You may check into the virtual clinic at any time to test your camera, microphone, and internet connection. Consultations will only take place if you have a scheduled appointment.
If you wish to arrange a telehealth consultation or discuss whether it is suitable for you, please contact our practice – we are always happy to help.
